Jordan
If you think of Jordan, you think of ancient Petra. Petra is a beautiful historical and archaeological city in Jordan and if you visit Petra, enter the city through the backside, near the monastery. The walk to the backsite is great. But Jordan has a lot more to offer.
We visited the ancient Roman city Jerash, complete with theatres, temples and churches. From Jerash we went down to the extreme high salinity Dead Sea where you can float on the water. We went to Dana national park, where you can walk in a beautiful and not touristic scenery. Visit the castle of Karak. Wadi Rum is a nice way to get acquainted with a desert. The scenery is beautiful and you can get lost into the sandy and rocky desert. In the southern part of Jordan you can visit Aqaba where you can dive into the gulf of Aqaba.
I travelled only 12 days through Jordan in the winter of 2007 with Sawadee. If you want more information about this trip click here.
